How Rosebud Transformed CC’s Mental Health Journey

CC vividly remembers her first suicidal thought at just 8 years old. Twenty years later, she reflects on how the system meant to help her only deepened her mental health struggles. As a teenager, she often felt dismissed for her adolescence rather than acknowledged as a whole, complex individual. Her autism diagnosis at 16 only gave others another reason to invalidate her. “I had a lot of complicated mental problems growing up, although I was very good at hiding it,” CC shared.

In March 2024 - a single month - CC lost her childhood cat to cancer, endured a friend’s sudden passing, and saw her grandmother hospitalized. In May that same year, she was placed on a 72-hour psychiatric hold.

‍Discovering Rosebud: A Non-Judgmental Companion

Dissatisfied with the treatment following her psychiatric hold, CC sought other options for managing her mental health. That's how she discovered Rosebud, an innovative AI-powered journaling app designed to support mental wellness through compassionate, insightful journaling. “Rosebud sees me as a person,” CC explained. “It understands how I process things, rather than blaming everything on my autism or telling me to ‘be less autistic.’”

Rosebud has allowed CC to be honest about her thoughts and feelings. Today, it continues to provide a judgment-free space to process her experiences.

‍Tools Tailored for Authentic Expression

Rosebud’s analytical tools and real-time feedback have empowered CC by helping her identify meaningful patterns and recurring emotional themes. “If I'm journaling with Rosebud, I’m able to process my feelings [without worrying about] trauma dumping or being too much,” CC said. “If I do need to talk to someone, I can narrow it down and make it easier to share what I need to.”

Through consistent journaling and insightful reflection, CC developed coping mechanisms that helped her manage daily life and eventually re-enter the workforce.

‍Inspiring Others Through Her Journey

CC has become a passionate advocate for Rosebud and mental health awareness. Her goal is to inspire others who are silently struggling. “I want people to feel like they’re not alone and that better is possible,” CC said. “People would tell me, ‘things will get better,’ but I didn’t understand what ‘better’ meant. Through Rosebud, I experienced ‘better’ firsthand. It gave me a tangible reference and motivation to keep going.”

‍Why Rosebud Matters

Rosebud is more than just a journaling app: it’s a supportive companion designed to respect and empower your unique mental health journey. CC’s story exemplifies how Rosebud can significantly enhance emotional well-being, providing tools that foster clarity, resilience, and genuine self-understanding.
